Cichlid sick floating on side with bubble on side????

I have 2 Dempsey Cichlids I have to keep them separated. My fish has a huge bubble on his side. He is floating on top of water on side. As walk buy I keep trying toup right him and keep bubble wet. Today I thought he had passed away but he's still alive. When I pushed him back down in water, where I hold him up right I noticed he is bleeding in several spots. Is there anything I can do to help him or is he at the end of his life.he has been this way for a month now. I had fed him he grabbed hold of my finger and went flying out of tank.
