Thinking about breeding Oscars and need some help!

Oscars are one of the hardest to breed in my opinion...if you haven't gotten chiclids to hook up yet, i suggest starting with firemouths or convicts because they are easy to type. I only got oscar brood after years with a pretty much bonded pair. I tried everything, like changing 1/4 water with colder to simulate rainwater...backwater solution (expensive and didnt work) I tried everything...but just over time they did it on their own.
