help for the graphicly slow

Ok I know theres a few computer and internet guru types on the forums.

So who can suggest a program to make and/or edit images? That is SIMPLE,easy and preferably cheap .


Trying to design either just a logo type front page (flash would be cool but I'd go insane first) or maybe an image map - if it matters.

Have you tried paint shop Pro? It's the alternative to Adobe Photoshop. Or try the GPL/free Gimp for Windows [url]http://www.gimp.org/windows/[/url]
(this first came out on Linux but now windows version is out...)

I'll give that Gimp a try (after a slow - dial up,download) and see what it can do.



For resizeing and simple stuff like that I have:
Kodak - program that came with my camera.
Photosuite - about worthless for anything more then resizeing.
Paint - junk,don't use it.

NONE of those do what I want - or I can't make them do what I want, something like that.

LoL, yea that looks a bit strange
Ulead PhotoImpact used to be decent for web stuff...
And Adobe ImageStyler was very easy to use....
Are you trying to create a website with images for links ie imagemaps... or just edit individual images, crop/edit, mess with lighting, add effects etc...?

Yeah - I want to either make a decient image map or something along those lines.
Unless I can't figure it out then I'll settle for an eyecatching type logo - main page pic , whatever.

Me + all the codes and junk = disaster so far
