I had an interesting thought the other day...it went something like this.
People are now able to regularly breed clownfish in captivity now, right? Why hasn't someone tried to breed clownfish in water of gradually lower specific gravity? They would adapt, wouldn't they? I mean if you dropped the specific gravity by .01 each generation, after a little more than 20 generations, you would have clownfish that not only survive, but breed in fresh water! Is there something about the biology of fish that I don't understand, or is this something that, given enough time, could work?
Just a thought I had the other day while I was doing nothing...
